The Fitbit “Charge 2” smart fitness bands were allegedly manufactured with screens that develop cracks over time. The “Charge 2” devices, introduced in 2016 with retail price of $149.95 ($179.95 for the Special Edition Series), continue to be sold through major retailers throughout the United States.
Consumers have complained on the internet that their Charge 2 screens have cracked. Fitbit has allegedly refused to provide refunds or repairs; instead, consumers may have been offered a 25% discount on a replacement product.
As a result of the defect, consumers may have overpaid for the fitness band because the crack significantly diminishes the value of the product.
