Statefarm allegedly conducted a wide scale telemarketing campaign and repeatedly made unsolicited calls to consumers’ telephones—whose numbers appear on the National Do Not Call Registry—without consent, and with a pre-recorded voice, all in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.The Telephone Consumer Protection Act was created in 1991 to limit telemarketing by restricting the use of automatic dialing systems and artificial or prerecorded voice messages.
