Media Giants May Have Conspired To Fix TV AD Prices

Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Tribune Media Company, and Tribune Broadcasting Company, LLC  allegedly fixed prices on commercials being aired on US broadcasting channels.

An antitrust class action has been filed alleging that Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Tribune Media Company, and Tribune Broadcasting Company, LLC conspired to fix prices for commercials to be aired on broadcasting stations throughout the United States. The complaint alleges that the media companies shared proprietary information which led to supra competitive prices in the market for the sale of television advertising.  By sharing competitively sensitive information through their advertising sales teams, the conspirators may have been in violation of the Sherman Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1.
