Life Lock May Not Be Protecting You from Identity Theft

A class action complaint has been filed against Life Lock, an identity theft protection service, alleging that the company fails to deliver on the promises it makes to consumers via TV, radio, and online advertising.  Life Lock allegedly promises to provide three levels of identity theft protection, which includes credit monitoring, notification of fraudulent credit card transactions, and black market website surveillance.  Life Lock’s victim assistance program allegedly assists victims of identity theft in restoring their credit.  The price for these services range from $9.99 to $29.99 per month.  Although the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) brought legal action against the company on two separate occasions, Life Lock allegedly continues to misstate the services it purports to provide to consumers.
