Walgreens, the second largest pharmacy chain in the United Sates, fills millions of prescriptions every month, including generic drug prescriptions. Generic drugs, which are equivalent to brand-name medications, are usually a less expensive option for many consumers. Walgreens has a program called the “Prescription Savings Club”, which apparently allows cash-paying customers to purchase generic drugs at significantly lower prices. However, it is alleged that Walgreens may not extend this pricing discount to customers who pay using insurance. Thus, customers who are paying with insurance could be overpaying for their generic drugs at Walgreens.
If you or anyone you know has purchased generic drugs at Walgreens using insurance, you may have overpaid for your prescriptions. Please contact Finkelstein Thompson LLP at contact@finkelsteinthompson.com or call us toll-free at 1-877-337-1050.
