Google’s Project Fi may be charging overcharging subscribers for used data services.
We are investigating allegations that Google’s Project Fi, a mobile phone and data service, charges its subscribers for data service received through open or home Wi-Fi, resulting in overcharges. According to Project Fi, customers “are not charged for the data [they] use when connected to open or home Wi-Fi.” However, subscribers report that Project Fi billed them for data use provided by other service providers and from free Wi-Fi.
