Jeep Wrangler failed to communicate a defect with its consumers which affect the engine and significant parts.
Owners of Jeep Wranglers have had to spend hundreds of dollars to have their cars fixed, even while still under warranty. Allegedly, Jeep Wranglers from 2012 to 2017 were made with a defect that can cause serious problems with the engine and its parts. The manufacturing defect reportedly, has left a great deal of casting sand inside the heating and cooling system of Wrangler’s vehicles. The defect seems to affect the the Pentastar V-6 3.6-liter engine.
Sand casting is a process in which sand molds are made for metal parts of an engine and then molten metal is poured into the molds. When the metal cools, it hardens and the sand casting is broken away. This leaves the metal engine component without the sand cast mold. Allegedly, some engine parts of the 2012-2017 Jeep Wranglers, residual casting sand was left in the components. This has resulted in casting sand passing through the engine of many of these vehicles, leaving a sludge residue in important parts of the Wrangler’s engine, including the heater core, the radiator and the oil cooling systems.
